Located half a mile north of Hwy 90 on Old Fort Bayou, Mikey's specializes in fresh Mississippi seafood. In addition to the many varieties of tasty fresh and saltwater dwellers, they also have ham and roast beef PoBoys for those who don't eat seafood. We started off with a dozen oysters on the half shell for $8.00. My Bride had Crawfish Mikey, a crawfish and mushroom bisque which was great. I broke from my usual crawfish or shrimp entrees and had a soft shell crab PoBoy. First time I've had a soft shell crab and it was also tremendous! Full bar. Both Smoking and Non Smoking sections which seem to work pretty well here.
Pascagoula:
Bozo's Seafood Market & Deli ($) 228-762-3322
2012 Ingalls Avenue, Pascagoula, MS, 39567
As the name suggests this is essentially a seafood market specializing in treasures from the Gulf with a very limited selection of groceries, mostly spices and southern specialty foods. They serve po-boys and burgers, as well as shrimp and crawfish boiled dinners and provide a dozen tables, plastic utensils and paper towels for those that want to eat-in. We had the "Crawfish Special" for $15 - 3 lbs. of boiled crawfish, 4 sausages, 4 ears of corn and 4 red potatoes that was GREAT!! Self serve beer and soda, no smoking.
Located in what was once the Pascagoula fire house/court/jail/police station, the menu is heavy on Cajun/Creole dishes as well as steak and chicken. We had the Fried Green Tomato appetizer covered in a shrimp and mushroom smothered in a Cajun cream sauce. Excellent!! I then had the red beans and rice with andouille sausage which was great as well as very filling. I just couldn't eat it all. The Bride had the Pascagoula Street Chicken which sounded great on the menu but was disappointing. Full bar with a small selection of wines available by the glass only. No Smoking.
