Well, Folks, it’s that time of year once again.  Tis the season to receive all of the fanciful “Christmas Letters” from friends and family, and even a few complete strangers, telling you how their 12-year old son has just been accepted to Harvard on an astrophysics scholarship and will also be the starting goalie for the Harvard ice hockey team; their twin 7-year old daughters have just signed multi-million dollar contracts to play Scarlett O’Hara and Melanie Hamilton in the soon to be released Sesame Street remake of Gone With the Wind; and even their dog has been awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for pulling 18 small children out of a burning orphanage.  To all of those folks I say, “BAH!! Humbug!!!!”

Okay, now that I’ve gotten THAT off my chest, we’ll get on with the purpose of this missive.  This is our annual Christmas Update!!!!!!  Gotcha!

As most of you already know from our previous diatribes, we have pretty much abandoned the Gypsy lifestyle we had been living for nearly 15 years and purchased the first, and LAST, house we have ever bought together.  Naturally, we went a little overboard with our Christmas decorating…

Living a mere 180 miles from our favorite Christmas getaway was just the inspiration we needed to buy a couple of tickets to a football game and head to New Orleans…

In spite of all the fireworks, Jazz bands, gorgeous cheerleaders and enthusiastic fans, the team didn’t show up for the game.  The Carolina Panthers handed the Saints a 41 – 10 loss in the Superdome; their worst ever while being coached by Sean Payton.

In spite of a dismal Saints performance, the rest of “The Big Easy” did not disappoint…

Hugs, Chuck & Kalyn

Although the food and football offered a minor distraction from our real purpose, we were soon cruising the streets of the French Quarter, the Garden District and the Irish channel enjoying the plethora of Christmas displays and decorations…

  Merry Christmas!                                                     December 23, 2014

Here’s wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and the Happiest of New Years!

Or, in the words of Bogie, “Here’s lookin’ at you, Kid!"
